Dr. Michael B. Sternthal attended Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York where he earned his Medical Degree. He then went on to complete his Internship, Residency and Clinical Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. He went into private practice in 1997 while still living in the greater New York area.

Dr. Sternthal was also Co-Director of the GI Clinic while in private practice at Mt. Sinai Hospital. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and has been with Digestive Disease Associates of South Florida since 2001.
